What to expect and not to expect tonight at the new P:
1. The bathrooms: both men and women have been scrubbed floor to ceiling with bleach and ammonia (at separate times to avoid toxic gases and whatnot. stupid whatnot.) The tiles have been cleaned with little brushes and the gum that was stuck on the floor is now white (no, it wouldn't come off). Do not expect them to be painted yet. We ran out of time. But they will be. Trust me.
2. The wood floors have been sanded and resanded I think about 30 times. No, seriously. I had to sit on the sanding machine while Wally pushed it around the floor. And I can remember going over the front section 11 times in one day alone. There are also 6 layers of polyurethane on them. Comment to Wally. He's proud.
3. The ceiling, the fans, the tvs, the smoke-eater, the neons and all the knick-knacks have been dusted and cleaned (by yours truely). Comment to me. I'm proud.
4. The pool table and golf machine will be in tomorrow. We can show you where they will go, but don't expect them.
5. The tables that were up front are now gone. A fooseball (sp?) table will be taking their place. Don't complain to me. I tried to keep them.
6. The fiberglass ceiling above the boothes have not been cleaned yet, but again, they will be. Trust me.
7. The cooler may only have 40-some odd beers in it now, but there are 12 more in the basement. We're just missing a few shelves.
Trust me. It has been well worth the wait. And 26 hours of work the last two days.
